There is a temptation when talking about an industry as established as shipping to frame innovation as a battle between the old and the new. But we think that framing misses the point.
Established ways of working have developed around the realities of the industry: managing risk, coordinating across organisations and responding to events where mistakes can have serious consequences for people, the environment, and commercial outcomes.

Bill Dobie, Sedna's founder and CEO, has spoken about an important lesson from trying to modernise maritime workflows:
Adoption works best when technology reinforces the habits that already help people manage complex and high-risk work, while making those habits faster and easier.
