Sedna and Seaber announce integration partnership, transforming cargo planning and fleet optimisation for charterers and shipowners

  • Available for joint Sedna and Seaber customers, this new integration allows charterers and shipowners to tap into the AI-powered benefits of two best-in-class global trade solutions
  • The integration will allow users to transform cargo planning and fleet optimisation, close deals before the competition, and achieve unparalleled operational efficiency

Data-driven communication software company Sedna has today announced an integration partnership with Seaber, a Finnish maritime software company specialising in the digitalisation of scheduling and chartering processes for bulk shipping.

The new partnership will see an integration between Seaber’s AI-powered Scheduling Intelligence platform and Sedna’s AI-driven Pulse product that allows charterers and shipowners to tap into the AI-powered benefits of two best-in-class global trade solutions - from analysing real-time market information to making data-backed decisions quickly and confidently.

Sedna’s Pulse instantly surfaces cargo information buried in emails in a clear and consolidated view. Now with the Seaber integration, you can create an inquiry in Pulse, add it to your plan, and push enriched cargo data into Seaber or IMOS with a single click.

Customers using the Seaber x Pulse integration will be able to save time switching tools and transform their cargo planning and fleet optimisation workflows - enabling them to close deals before the competition, deliver commercial success at pace, and achieve unparalleled operation efficiency throughout the chartering process.

A recent Seaber case study with a major oil and gas operator demonstrated a 3-5% reduction in shipping costs. Seaber’s built-in shipping intelligence enhances decision-making and adapts seamlessly to the company’s evolving needs. By integrating with cargo data for real-time scheduling, Seaber significantly improves planning efficiency. Furthermore, it actively supports decarbonization initiatives by reducing emissions through more optimized and efficient operations.

Seaber’s CEO Sebastian Sjöberg commented: “We are excited to collaborate with Sedna to enhance scheduling and chartering for the maritime industry. With the integration of Seaber and Sedna, our clients will be able to analyze real-time market data, enabling them to make quicker and more informed decisions to maximize fleet profitability while extending their planning horizon.”

The integration was created using the Sedna “UIKit” - an API-driven app builder that provides developers with a wide range of user interface components. Sedna customers and partners are able to use these components to securely create rich, intelligent interactions within their email views throughout the Sedna experience and integrate them with other applications.

Bill Dobie, Founder & CEO of Sedna added: “By making it effortless to send market cargoes and positions from email to Seaber with a single click, the app streamlines the chartering process. This seamless integration brings Seaber's advanced scheduling AI to optimise fleet utilisation, enhancing overall operational and commercial efficiency directly into their real-time trading workflow”.

“This is an incredibly powerful integration and one that we’re excited to offer joint Sedna and Seaber customers. We're looking forward to seeing the impact of this partnership on charterer and shipowner efficiency.”

The integration between Seaber and Sedna’s Pulse reflects both companies’ dedication to improving collaboration for traders, charterers, and schedulers through digitalisation and the utilisation of AI to drive efficiencies on a global scale.

It also further advances the collaborative agenda of Sedna who believes in an open partner ecosystem to further the digital transformation of global trade.
